DESCRIPTION


The selected vendor will provide construction and commissioning services for a new forensic laboratory facility for a government authority in Lockport, New York. The new 9,088 square foot laboratory is intended to support a multidisciplinary staff, including evidence technicians, forensic analysts, quality assurance personnel, laboratory management, interns, and student researchers. The design aims to address current space limitations, supporting future program growth and workforce development.

Key project features include specialized spaces for forensic biology (DNA), drug analysis, toxicology, firearms and toolmark examination, and the creation of a latent prints unit. The facility will also contain dedicated areas for evidence intake, secure storage, analytical testing, instrumentation, report writing, and administrative functions. Advanced analytical technologies and laboratory instrumentation will be incorporated to enable innovative forensic methodologies, with infrastructure designed for current and emerging technologies to maximize analytical capabilities.

A pre-bid site inspection is scheduled for June 16, 2026, with all questions due by June 23, 2026. The initial contract term will be for one year.
