DESCRIPTION


The contractor will manufacture, supply, and deliver optical fiber cables for a government authority in Sacramento, California. The cable system must include a minimum of 288 fibers, configured as two groups of 144 fibers.

The fiber optic cables will support the transmission of video, voice, and data between stations, depots, maintenance facilities, train care facilities, traction power and solar sites, and wayside facilities along the California high-speed rail line. Single-mode fiber must achieve insertion loss of no more than 0.35 dB/km at 1310 nm and 0.22 dB/km at 1550 nm. Fiber optic fusion splices must have insertion loss of no more than 0.05 dB.
