A Colorado agency is seeking a qualified vendor to provide a comprehensive enterprise hardware and virtualization platform. The primary objective is to replace the agency’s current virtualization environment with a modern, resilient, and vendor-neutral solution that not only meets or surpasses existing capabilities but also supports future growth, multi-site resiliency, and increased operational efficiency. The new platform must offer flexible deployment options and optimized performance for mixed virtualization workloads.

Key requirements include full disaster recovery and replication features, with a Recovery Time Objective (RTO) of one hour or less. For dual-site deployments, the solution should accommodate two independent sites, support both active/active and active/passive configurations, and enable planned and unplanned failover as well as failback workflows. The compute infrastructure must utilize a dual-socket server design with at least 32 physical cores per node, while the storage subsystem should deliver high availability and fault tolerance. Networking should provide a minimum of 10 GbE per node.

Essential virtualization features include virtual machine snapshots and rollback, live migration of VMs without downtime, automated workload balancing, and the ability to perform rolling upgrades and maintenance with no disruptions. Security requirements encompass data encryption in transit and robust role-based access control (RBAC). The platform must integrate with Entra ID for identity and access management, with a fallback to local accounts if the identity provider is unavailable. Additional expectations involve backup, monitoring, visibility, management automation, lifecycle management, and comprehensive support and implementation services. The contract is anticipated to span one year.
