A government authority in Manitoba, Canada is seeking a vendor to provide comprehensive employee benefits consulting services, particularly for large post-secondary benefits plans. The selected consultant should be adept at advising on current industry trends, legislative changes, and developing cost-effective benefit plan designs and administration strategies.

The scope of work will include negotiating insurer renewals, conducting costing and evaluations of plan design changes, attending regular update meetings, and auditing financial results to ensure alignment with underwriting terms. Additional responsibilities encompass assessing and benchmarking the competitiveness of plan offerings, providing annual actuarial valuations, and delivering ongoing consultation regarding all benefit policies. The consultant will also support benefit plan governance, proactively advise on market developments, and address topics such as health & wellness, equity and inclusion, mental health, and chronic disease management as they relate to employee benefit plans.

The firm must provide qualified representatives for direct account management and support, and may be asked to assist with specific claim adjudication, contract interpretation, policy provisions, administrative details, and communication with benefit carriers. The contract term will be for one year.
