The selected vendor will provide comprehensive billing and collection services for emergency medical services, including Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance services and any bundled Advanced Life Support billing contracts. The coverage is county-wide, with operations running Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm, utilizing a fleet of three ambulances. Services must include processing all forms, reports, telephone lines, envelopes, telephone calls, postage, and other incidental cost items associated with billing.
The provider is expected to review all submitted trip reports for accuracy and completeness, and perform computerized billing, transmitting submissions to medical insurance companies when possible. Collection activities are limited strictly to EMS billing. The vendor must process claims and denials in accordance with Medicare and Medicaid timeliness requirements, re-categorize claims as appropriate, and provide ongoing analysis and expertise in EMS ambulance billing, including analysis of trends and pertinent issues.
The contract period will be for one year.
