The State of California is seeking a qualified vendor to provide a comprehensive electronic fare payment system for its transit operations. The proposed solution should support multiple payment media, including mobile ticketing, smart cards, magnetic-stripe passes, and cash, ensuring accessibility and convenience for all riders. The system must be account-based, user-friendly, and capable of processing a range of fare media such as convenience passes and transfer tickets.
The selected vendor will be responsible for implementing a fare collection system that records each transaction with associated time and location data (where applicable) to facilitate accurate revenue audits and analysis of passenger boarding patterns. Integration with existing transit technologies is crucial, including compatibility with the TripShot CAD/AVL system, ongoing Hanover integration with Diamond fareboxes, and support for mobile applications such as the TripShot mobile app and Token Transit farecard readers.
This project will serve a fleet of fourteen fixed-route buses. Interested vendors will have the opportunity to attend a non-mandatory pre-proposal meeting and must submit all questions by the specified deadline.
