This RFP seeks a vendor to produce an educational and public-awareness film titled 'Fox Creek: From Forest to Future'. The project aims to document the industrial heritage, forestry and oil/gas development, sustainable resource management practices, wildfire resilience, and community stories in Fox Creek, Alberta. The scope includes creating a creative brief, story outline, and filming plan, as well as conducting a discovery phase with the Town project team to finalize the vision and objectives.

The film will chronicle the history and evolution of forestry and oil/gas activities, showcase modern sustainable forestry and wildfire-mitigation practices, and highlight Canfor’s environmental stewardship. The vendor is responsible for research and development of interview subjects and filming locations, coordinating permits for drone operations and access, and organizing on-site filming at industrial, community, and natural locations. The project also requires collection of interviews with diverse stakeholders—including residents, industry workers, Indigenous representatives, and local leadership—along with aerial drone cinematography.

Post-production involves editing raw footage, incorporating licensed music, narration, archival materials, and graphics; color grading, sound design, and rendering; and delivery of the final film in multiple formats for various distribution channels. The film should include English subtitles (with an option for French), and the contract period is one year.

Best-fit vendors:

• Experienced film production company specializing in educational and public awareness projects

• Proven track record with industrial, environmental, and community subjects

• Capability for aerial drone cinematography and multi-format media delivery

• Familiarity with Alberta’s permitting, access, and local regulations

• Ability to coordinate interviews with diverse stakeholders and integrate archival content

• Experience with Indigenous perspectives and environmental storytelling
