Rhode Island is seeking a qualified vendor to design, produce, and execute a choreographed drone light show as a grand finale for its 250th Anniversary celebrations. The selected vendor will collaborate with a volunteer committee in charge of the anniversary events, culminating in the Renunciation Day celebration held on Independence Day, May 2, 2026.

The vendor's responsibilities include developing a custom drone show that incorporates thematic elements, such as recognizable shapes, symbols, text, or animations that reflect the United States’ 250th anniversary and semi-quincentennial. A conceptual storyboard or visual mock-ups must be submitted for review and approval before final programming begins. The drone show should utilize a sufficient number of drones to achieve high-visibility effects for a large outdoor audience, with drones equipped with high-visibility LED lighting suitable for nighttime viewing. Some drones should also be capable of pyrotechnic effects to further enhance the spectacle.

A comprehensive safety plan is required prior to the event, including real-time monitoring of weather and environmental conditions. The vendor must provide certified drone operators, trained visual observers, and full on-site staffing to manage setup, rehearsal, show execution, and teardown. The show must be executed safely and professionally to ensure a memorable and secure experience for all attendees.
