The government authority in Bessemer, Alabama seeks a vendor to provide comprehensive district-wide networking and basic maintenance services. Required services include provisioning and supporting fiber internet and WAN circuits, as well as maintenance for Cisco catalyst switches and routers (models 3500, 9200, 2960X) in MDFs and IDFs. The project also involves servicing Meraki switches, routers, and wireless access points, as well as Ubiquiti point-to-point wireless bridges for network connectivity.

Vendors will be responsible for managing Windows Server 2022 (Active Directory and DHCP), Windows Hyper V with hosted virtual machines for various applications, and Linux DNS filtering servers (lightspeed). The scope includes supporting FortiGate 200 firewall systems with unified threat protection, Trend Micro Vision One for server/workload protection and Google Workspace cloud filtering, and overseeing Google Workspace administration.

Additional services include maintaining the Mitel / ShoreTel phone system, consisting of approximately 550 extensions for both analog and VoIP communication. The selected vendor will ensure reliable operation, security, and optimal performance of the district’s network and related IT infrastructure.
