The contractor is required to provide district sign services, which includes the demolition and removal of the existing California Avenue monument sign, as well as the associated cobblestone base and foundation. Prior to starting excavation, the contractor must contact Underground Services Alert (USA) five working days in advance.

Following demolition, the area must be backfilled to 90% compaction at 3-foot intervals using clean topsoil as needed. The project also calls for installation of a photocell sensor to control sign lighting, ensuring activation at dusk and deactivation at dawn. The sensor must be contained within a weather-resistant housing, painted to match the sign, and placed in an open area to avoid obstruction by nearby structures or landscaping.

The contractor is responsible for reviewing all relevant architectural, structural, electrical, and lighting drawings, including specifications for proper layout and location of items. Coordination with other trades is essential to address necessary connections and prevent installation conflicts.

Best-fit vendors:

• Licensed general contractor with experience in signage and monument construction

• Expertise in demolition, excavation, and electrical installation

• Familiarity with local permitting and Underground Services Alert requirements

• Proven ability to coordinate with multiple trades on construction projects
