The Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) is seeking a qualified digital accessibility consultant to assist in developing and implementing a comprehensive digital accessibility remediation plan. The consultant will focus on remediating published documents on the organization's website as well as ensuring that digital platforms comply with accessibility standards.
Key responsibilities include remediating digital documents, providing training for staff, and implementing strategic plans to achieve ongoing accessibility compliance. The consultant will create reference tools and training materials in various formats, such as best practices checklists and video recordings, to support staff education. Additionally, the role involves establishing internal control processes for accessibility compliance across multiple MSHDA digital platforms, including websites, web applications, GovDelivery email, social media channels, and other public-facing systems.
The selected consultant will also develop monitoring and testing tools to maintain compliance, create processes for prioritizing web pages for remediation, and set up procedures for continuous monitoring, auditing, and content updates. Guidance regarding accessibility requirements for procurement, vendor contracts, and grantees will be provided. Establishing clear protocols and benchmarks for remediation is a critical component of the engagement.
