This RFI seeks a vendor to develop and implement data management solutions enabling the integration and standardization of both field and laboratory data into a unified environmental data format. Responsibilities include maintaining and enhancing environmental data models and regional databases, updating schema as needed, and ensuring compliance with national standards such as USEPA and ASTM protocols.
The vendor will be tasked with maintaining consistency and facilitating the evolution of common dictionary files so that both legacy and new data types remain compatible. Additionally, support must be provided to partners through training on data delivery tools, and processes for importing data from templates must be automated. The scope also includes reviewing and estimating the resources required to standardize and ingest new or modified datasets, including projected work hours, complexity, and strategic recommendations. Thorough documentation for each dataset—including source details, analytical methods, coordinate projection, and records of data handling decisions—must be developed and maintained.
Best-fit vendors:
• Expertise in environmental data management and integration
• Familiarity with USEPA, ASTM, and related data standards
• Experience developing automated data import and delivery tools
• Proven track record with database schema design and documentation
• Ability to provide technical training and support to partners
