DESCRIPTION


The contracting organization seeks a vendor to operate a Dail-A-Ride (DAR) public transit system and provide demand-response bus service. The contractor will supply all vehicle operators and dispatchers, supervise service delivery, schedule drivers and vehicles, dispatch vehicles, perform administrative and passenger service functions, and clean the interiors and exteriors of vehicles.

Dispatchers must be able to use scheduling and dispatching software to access rider trip information, schedule trips, dispatch vehicles, and assign drivers. Personnel assigned to telephone information or DAR reservation lines must receive training in customer relations, telephone procedures, accident and incident response, reservation procedures, operating policies, and scheduling and dispatching software.

The service will provide curb-to-curb transportation to all riders without special eligibility requirements. The contractor must provide administrative staff listings with after-hours contact information, an on-call schedule, and nationwide toll-free telephone access for reservations and transit information. The contract term will be five years, and a pre-proposal meeting is scheduled for September 17, 2026.
