The Corps of Engineers is offering an 11-hour Construction Quality Management (CQM) training course designed to familiarize contractor personnel with CQM concepts and procedures. The course will be held at Davenport Public Library Eastern, located at 6000 Eastern Avenue, Davenport, Iowa, and will take place on May 7 and 8. Class size is limited to 20 students, and there is no charge for attendance.
The training covers topics including contractor review, quality management planning, preconstruction conference coordination, submittals, quality management during construction, system implementation, and the Resident Management System. Delivered through a facilitated video format, each module features a blend of video clips, readings, and interactive class discussions to foster engagement and practical learning.
To successfully complete the course, students must participate in all sessions and achieve a passing grade of 70 on a written test. Certificates valid for five years will be provided to those meeting the requirements. Course materials are available for download, and students should bring their own copies. Classes may be cancelled if fewer than 10 registrants are confirmed one week prior to the scheduled date, with preference given to those working on contracts within the Mississippi Valley Division.
