The Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) is announcing its intent to issue a sole source award for engineering and research support for the Future 5G Lab. This initiative supports the exploration of emerging technologies and their integration into bomber fleet operations. The objective is to advance systems engineering, modeling and simulation, and scientific analysis addressing emerging threats impacting national security, with a specific focus on the operational requirements and mission execution of the bomber fleet.

The selected organization, Stephenson Stellar Corporation (SSC), will provide essential engineering expertise and technical assessment capabilities. Responsibilities include conducting studies such as next-generation bomber aircraft comparisons, developing and integrating Risk Management Framework (RMF) and cyber operations capabilities into bomber operations, and applying analytical rigor to generate mission-relevant data. The work will directly support AFGSC’s acquisition processes and enhance operational readiness through research, design, and the incorporation of innovative communication technologies.
