Utah is seeking a qualified vendor to provide a collections management system aimed at enhancing the functionality of institutional collections data, streamlining inter-divisional coordination, and improving public accessibility to historic and curatorial research.
The vendor will be responsible for maintaining the Collections Management System (CMS), including creating specialized infrastructure to facilitate the relocation of collections to a new storage facility. Additional responsibilities include refining lexicons and record information for data cleanup, and testing updated system functionalities to ensure usability and accuracy. The contractor will manage communications for design and infrastructure modifications for both the backend CMS and the public-facing collections portal, submit work requests as needed, and keep the collections team informed about system updates and enhancements.
Coordination between divisions and effective project management are key components, with the contractor also responsible for reporting agency decisions to the relevant software provider. The contract will span a period of five years.
