A UK-based transportation authority is seeking vendors to provide a cloud-hosted real time passenger information system. This comprehensive solution will manage digital roadside displays as well as the creation and distribution of printed timetable publicity materials throughout the service region.
The system must include central management software capable of standards-compliant data ingest and processing (such as SIRI and TXC), live monitoring, and comprehensive reporting functions. It should offer open data services, including accessible APIs and SIRI feeds. Timetable generation software will need to support the production of printed roadside publicity in accordance with specific layout and accessibility requirements.
Vendors will also be responsible for implementing web-based status dashboards to monitor data feeds, hardware, and system performance. The solution must include features such as automated alerts, KPI reporting for availability and fault response times, and detailed tracking of system coverage. Content management should enable the configuration of real time and scheduled information, disruption messages, operator branding, and support custom display requirements, along with group and cluster management capabilities.
Security and compliance are mandatory, with requirements including ISO 27001 certification, GDPR compliance, and at least Cyber Essentials accreditation. Additional security measures such as HTTPS, detailed audit trails, access controls, and independent testing are required. Ongoing support should feature live system monitoring, a fault management system, proactive and reactive maintenance for both hardware and software, and clear procedures for maintenance and system updates. Scalability for operators, data feeds, and display units, along with transparent component pricing, is essential over the contract period.
