The organization is seeking a vendor to provide a cloud-based weapon detection software solution to enhance campus safety through advanced real-time video analytics. The software will operate on the existing public safety camera network and must include procurement, implementation, training, and ongoing support. A core requirement is seamless integration with the current security infrastructure and compatibility with Hanwha and Axis camera systems. Both on-premises and cloud options must be provided, with a preference for on-premises deployment.
The system should reliably and accurately identify a broad spectrum of weapons such as handguns, rifles, shotguns, and knives, achieving high accuracy rates (e.g., 95–99% for clearly visible weapons) and supporting long-range detection depending on camera resolution. It must be compatible with standard IP cameras from various manufacturers and integrate with Genetec video management systems. In addition, the solution should utilize advanced analytics to reduce false positives by analyzing behavior and context, while addressing the unique implementation needs of the campus environment.
Vendors must address all required capabilities and may submit questions regarding this procurement by March 9, 2026.
Best-fit vendors:
• Established provider of weapon detection or advanced video analytics solutions
• Experience integrating with Hanwha, Axis, and Genetec security infrastructure
• Ability to deploy both cloud-based and on-premises software
• Demonstrated success with high-accuracy weapon recognition in campus or institutional environments
• Capability to provide training and ongoing technical support
