The organization seeks a vendor to provide a cloud-based enterprise generative AI solution delivered through a Software as a Service (SaaS) model. The solution must be accessible via browsers and support end-user linked integration with Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, and SharePoint folders for data analysis. Multi-model and model-agnostic functionality is required, utilizing current large language model (LLM) datasets, and supporting both provided and university/user data sets for small language models (SLM) and private instances.
The platform must offer unlimited or predictably priced, flat-rate access for all University of Maine System users. Required features include citation and grounding capabilities (retrieval-augmented generation), generation of text in response to prompts, transcription services (speech to text), accessibility tools (text to speech), image-to-text and text-to-image generation, code generation and execution sandboxes, translation, and research assistance functionalities. Granular access controls, automated data retention and deletion, enterprise management, and robust export, analytics, and AI safety guardrails are also necessary.
The system is intended to support teaching, learning, and research activities across all academic disciplines, ensuring comprehensive coverage for students, faculty, and staff. Additional requirements include team dashboards, workspace collaboration tools, and automated governance and compliance features.
