(1) Vendor needs to provide citation management system. – The Agency seeks to procure an online research management, writing, and bibliographic management tool that allows researchers and students to gather, manage, store and share information, as well as generate citations directly from library databases, create bibliographies, and format bibliography and in-text citations in word processing software such as Microsoft Word, Google Docs and LaTeX. This tool will serve over 250,000 students, faculty, and staff across more than 30 libraries. The desired tool should enhance the user experience, streamline research workflows, and support the diverse information sources used by our academic community. Core Functional Requirements: The proposed online research management tool must: • Be a cloud-based tool not requiring local installation for use • Allow seamless integration with browser-based library discovery systems, databases, websites allowing automatic recognition of document type (book, article, etc.) with menu-based functionality within major word processing programs such as Microsoft Word • Allow for manual entry of citations and bibliographic data • Allow users to generate citations and bibliographies automatically in pre-set citation styles, or in user- or institution-defined styles • Allow extensive citation management functionality allowing users to edit citation metadata and organize personal collections of citations with user-defined folders and/or tags • Include collaboration tools to allow users to share citations and collections, and to edit and enhance shared records and collections of records and work collaboratively on research projects • Support mobile compatibility across iOS and Android devices with responsive web design.
