The Commonwealth of Massachusetts seeks a qualified vendor to provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancement for an existing cemetery management system built on a Microsoft Access database. The selected vendor will ensure the stability, security, and reliability of the system, while aligning its capabilities with operational requirements and enabling future improvements. Key responsibilities include data input and management, application troubleshooting, database corruption repair, performance optimization, and the application of corrective updates to Access forms, reports, queries, and VBA code.
The vendor will be tasked with implementing functional enhancements and workflow changes, developing and testing updates in a staging environment before deployment, and building or maintaining integrations with GIS/mapping tools, financial systems, or web portals as needed. Regular duties involve scheduled backups, database integrity checks, recovery testing, data cleansing, deduplication, and support for data import/export routines. Additionally, the provider will create and maintain custom reports and export functions to support operational and reporting needs.
Expertise in managing municipal cemetery databases is required, along with proficiency in utilizing GPS and GIS data to improve the efficiency of data plotting. The vendor will also provide migration planning and technical advice to support the evolving needs of cemetery data management.
