The project seeks vendors to provide a demonstration of card elimination processes and AirFASE software for use with the P–8A Multi–Functional Data Acquisition Unit (MFDAU) on the P–8A platform. The current system captures and records raw P–8A flight data that is downloaded via now-obsolete PCMCIA cards; therefore, NAVAIR requires a seamlessly integrated replacement system for alternate data storage and ground station access.
The proposed solution should augment current aircraft data recording by utilizing the Aeronautical Radio Incorporated (ARINC) 429 and MIL–STD–1553 data buses for expanded capability. It must include a method for decoding and displaying the data for off-aircraft analysis. AirFASE software from Teledyne, which requires licensing per use, is currently used for data analysis; both Windows applications for small data sets and a cloud-based implementation for handling enterprise-level datasets are of interest.
This Request for Information (RFI) aims to gauge industry capability around the design, development, testing, and manufacturing of such integrated systems.
Best-fit vendors:
• Experience with avionics data acquisition and storage systems
• Ability to develop, test, and manufacture aircraft data solutions
• Expertise in ARINC 429 and MIL–STD–1553 integration
• Authorized reseller or integrator of Teledyne AirFASE software
• Demonstrated capability in both Windows and cloud-based software deployment
