The platform should support both in-store and online bookstore activities with features such as management overrides, real-time system access, promotional display capabilities at checkout, and customized data entry for details like serial numbers and student IDs. Additionally, the system should feature a retail website layout that meets industry standards, along with a searchable student booklist by ID, course, or section, and support for new, used, and digital book formats, as well as various configuration requirements.

Further specifications include online gift card balance functionality, an administrator interface for product and pricing management, the ability to handle high transaction volumes with secure web hosting, and support for multiple payment options (cash, cheque, credit/debit cards, sponsor accounts, and invoices).
