A government authority in Chicago, Illinois seeks a vendor to provide bookstore operations services, supporting faculty and students with the procurement and distribution of textbooks and supplementary materials prior to and during semesters. The vendor will be responsible for ensuring student access to electronic books and physical textbooks in quantities that meet anticipated enrollment, based on lists provided by agency faculty before each semester.
Services include batch ordering of books by agency or title, importing class lists, displaying class details, adding materials for multiple sections, creating custom textbooks and course packs, and providing access to open-source materials. The system must support auto-saving of adoption progress, allow review and editing prior to submission, display student costs, and provide tracking and reporting functions for adoption status, purchases, and reminders. Vendors are required to supply two complimentary reference copies to the library for each new book adoption and deliver three shipments of reference copies during the term. Approval routing to department chairs and data tracking by faculty, course, and college are also necessary.
Questions regarding this RFP must be submitted by March 10, 2026. A pre-bid meeting will be held on March 5, 2026. The contract period is set for one year.
