Ontario seeks professional services for Azure Databricks architecture, implementation, and workload migration.
(1) Vendor needs to provide azure databricks professional services.– Supplier to architect, plan, implement, test, and deliver the two use cases on the existing Azure Databricks platform– The Supplier must ensure that the design and deployment incorporate ongoing cost optimization practices, including cluster management, workload optimization, resource allocation, monitoring, governance, and architecture that allows for the future integration of other Microsoft data ecosystem components such as Microsoft Fabric• Pre–Assessment & Planning Tasks and Activities– Review existing artifacts and interview stakeholders to conduct a current state assessment to understand all requirements and success factors– Document non–functional security requirements, integration constraints, cost optimizations and approval processes that may influence the implementation approach and consider level of effort for implementation and testing including test data creation strategy and test plan.• DW Modernization Tasks and Activities– Implement a new Lakehouse architecture based on Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and modern ingestion pipelines– Implement a strategy for the ingestion of large volumes of semi–structured data (e.g., millions of small XML files via Autoloader or Delta Live Tables)• Migration of Python/R–Based Workloads Tasks and Activities– Review Databricks workspace deployment and cluster management best practices;– Conduct deep dives on core Databricks concepts: Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables, Autoloader, Unity Catalog(2) All the questions must be submitted no later than January 5, 2026
