A large library network in Novi, Michigan, is seeking a vendor to provide a scalable automated materials handling system. The library system includes a patron database of approximately 400,000 accounts, one million bibliographic records, and a combined annual circulation of about 8 million physical items.

The required solution must be robust and scalable, engineered for a centralized sorting environment, and capable of efficiently processing bulk materials delivered in bins from member libraries. The system must offer advanced reporting features, including customizable statistical reports, as well as remote monitoring and diagnostics for tracking return rates, troubleshooting, and gathering usage statistics. Additional requirements include support for easily configurable, user-customizable sort profiles and a flexible, modular design that enables future expansion or reconfiguration with minimal effort, maximizing the reuse of existing components. The system should also provide a web-based interface and an online ticketing platform for ease of use.
