The City of Independence, Missouri is seeking a qualified vendor to provide services for its Annual Pavement Maintenance Program. The scope of work includes comprehensive pavement sealing, utilizing methods such as Cape Seal and Scrub Seal with Fog Seal, as well as related surface and pavement preparation activities.
Specific tasks involve the removal of existing pavement markings, thorough cleaning and sweeping of pavements to eliminate dirt, oil, water, debris, and other contaminants, and safeguarding utility structures including manhole covers, water boxes, and catch basins during treatment. Additional work encompasses pavement preparation activities such as crack sealing and filling, patching, and joint repair.
The contract also covers ancillary work including the installation of Portland cement concrete curbs, sidewalks, and handicap ramps, as well as thermoplastic pavement striping and traffic control measures. Contractors will be responsible for conducting tests to establish preliminary designs of concrete and asphalt mixes, while the owner will cover the costs for all other required testing and sample transportation.
