The agency seeks a vendor to provide ambassador services that support various outreach efforts related to operations, promotions, special event service, construction, planning, and long-term assignments. The selected vendor will deploy staff to assist the general public during major public events, construction projects, planning workshops, street fairs, parades, crises, and emergency-related circumstances. Staff must be able to respond to outreach requests within 48 hours of initial contact, or the next business day if weekends or federal holidays apply.
The contract requires staff equipped to offer interpretation services in multiple languages, particularly Cantonese, Mandarin, and Spanish, to serve Limited English Proficiency (LEP) customers. Additional responsibilities include supporting communication and operations by placing informational and directional signage as needed, and maintaining ongoing communication with the outreach Project Manager to report incidents, conditions, or issues requiring attention.
Vendors must utilize the agency’s online reporting and feedback system to document all outreach and interactions. Work may include responding to operational changes (such as fare, schedule, or service updates), supporting promotions at school or community events, and facilitating services at high-profile events like major sports games and large-scale public gatherings.
Best-fit vendors:
• Experience providing event staffing and ambassador services in public sector environments
• Capabilities to supply multilingual staff, including Cantonese, Mandarin, and Spanish speakers
• Proven track record supporting large-scale events and emergency response
• Familiarity with online reporting and feedback platforms
• Ability to respond rapidly to outreach requests
• Established presence in California
