Pinal County is soliciting proposals from qualified individual attorneys to provide Adult Criminal Indigent Legal Services. The goal is to provide superior legal representation, safeguard fundamental individual rights, and ensure equal access to the protections afforded by the United States and Arizona Constitutions. The contract term runs through June 30, 2027, with the option for three additional one-year renewals. Services include representation in adult criminal proceedings, including felonies, misdemeanors, probation violations, and mental health commitment proceedings.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have a Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school
  • Must be licensed by the State Bar of Arizona and in good standing
  • Must have at least two years of relevant experience practicing law in the area of practice for which the contractor enters into the contract
  • Must have knowledge of the Arizona Rules of Professional Conduct, ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct, and Arizona Public Defender Association performance standards
  • Must possess or have access to a desktop or laptop computer with regular internet access
  • Must possess a cellular telephone
  • Must maintain professional liability insurance with minimum amounts of $1,000,000 per claim and $2,000,000 annual aggregate
