DESCRIPTION

The City of Valdez is soliciting proposals for the private operation and management of the Valdez Glacier Campground. The selected operator will be responsible for day-to-day operations, including facility and janitorial maintenance, site supervision, resource protection, visitor services, and fee collection. The campground features 110 campsites, a day-use area, and various amenities. The initial contract term is two years, with the possibility of a three-year extension at the City's discretion.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Must have financial capability to operate and maintain the campground
Must have experience relevant to operating public facilities or services
Must provide at least three references
Must obtain and maintain all required licenses and permits, including an Alaska business license and City of Valdez business registration
Must maintain Commercial General Liability Insurance with limits of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate
Must maintain Automobile Liability Insurance with limits of at least $1,000,000
Must maintain Workers’ Compensation Insurance as required by Alaska law and Employer’s Liability coverage with limits of at least $500,000
