DESCRIPTION

This Request for Information (RFI) seeks input from vendors regarding Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). The goal is to understand market capabilities, industry best practices, and key considerations—both architectural and functional—that will inform future planning, budgeting, and procurement activities.

The LIMS solution is anticipated to support comprehensive laboratory operations, including sample and lifecycle management (identification, login, labeling, test assignment, tracking), test and data management (execution, data entry, calculations, limits management, results), as well as quality control, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and sample metadata management. Additional functional areas include workflow and operations (configuration, scheduling, assignments, operational controls), reagent and equipment management (tracking, calibration, maintenance), and user access and security (role-based access, approvals, retention, auditability). Integration with client portals, reporting, dashboards, visualization, and business intelligence tools is also desired.

Respondents are encouraged to outline their solution’s capabilities, share industry best practices, and provide recommendations on how the LIMS can address each of these requirements.
