The United States Military Academy at West Point is seeking qualified construction firms for the major reconstruction of Thayer Hall, a key general instruction facility. This project, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, involves the complete deconstruction and reconstruction of Thayer Hall within the cadet central area of the installation. The scope demands meticulous planning, as adjacent buildings will remain occupied throughout the project and operational disruptions must be minimized.

The reconstruction of Thayer Hall is a central element of the Academic Building Upgrade Program, which is designed to modernize academic facilities and address a significant instructional space shortage currently faced by the Academy. The new facility will support approximately 2,880 cadets and help reduce a documented deficit of over 400,000 square feet of instructional space. Additional objectives include consolidating key academic programs into a single, state-of-the-art building, enhancing operational efficiency, and encouraging cross-disciplinary collaboration by minimizing departmental fragmentation.

The project is anticipated to be issued in the summer of 2026, with demolition and construction activities scheduled to commence in early 2027. The estimated construction cost exceeds $500 million.
