DESCRIPTION
The selected vendor will provide public participation and engagement services in support of a new comprehensive plan for the county. This plan will address a wide range of topics including housing, transportation, economic development, natural resource conservation, and especially land use and development. The comprehensive plan will feature a land-use map, assigning development densities and designations appropriate to various locations, with the aim of guiding future changes and considering impacts on nearby properties, the environment, and public services.
Key responsibilities include developing engagement strategies, core messages, and content to facilitate discussions on complex topics such as growth and development through a variety of communication channels. The vendor will also help to finalize a public participation plan, building upon a draft provided by the county and incorporating recommended activities and strategies.
Engagement elements include organizing one or more series of in-person public meetings and open houses designed to involve and inform residents and stakeholders. Consultants must engage effectively on challenging topics and support transparent, accessible public processes.
