DESCRIPTION

The government authority in Western Springs, Illinois is seeking a qualified vendor to provide comprehensive professional engineering services for upcoming capital and infrastructure projects. The selected firm will be responsible for conducting pre-design investigations, designing project components, and preparing all necessary drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Additional responsibilities include estimating construction costs, assisting administrative consultants and Village staff with the development of construction bid documents, and managing the advertising, tabulation, and awarding of bids. The firm will provide supervision during preconstruction meetings, field staking, on-site construction supervision, and the preparation of inspection reports throughout the project lifecycle.

The scope of services also covers reviewing submittals, shop drawings, requests for information, and change orders, as well as reviewing and approving contractor payment requests for submission to the governing body. Upon project completion, reproducible as-built plan drawings must be provided to the Village. The vendor will also conduct residential and commercial engineering site development plan reviews and handle utility company right-of-way permit reviews.
