SUMMARY

The U.S. Army is seeking information on modular, ruggedized transit case solutions for Next Generation Command and Control equipment in vehicle and expeditionary environments. Responses should address transportability, rapid installation and removal, single-soldier handling, and integrated power, cooling, and signal management.

DESCRIPTION

The U.S. Army Product Manager Command Post Modernization is seeking industry information regarding modular transit case solutions to support Next Generation Command and Control capabilities. This request for information is intended to support development and planning for a potential future requirement involving dismountable installations of tactical communication and computing equipment within vehicle platforms.

The Army is looking for existing or near-term commercial or government off-the-shelf solutions, as well as innovative approaches, that can house NGC2 equipment in a modular, ruggedized, and dismountable configuration. The information gathered will be used to help define requirements, evaluate market readiness, identify technical and integration risks, and inform acquisition strategy.

The scope includes design, fabrication, and integration capabilities for transit cases that can securely protect equipment during transport and operation; support tool-less mounting, dismounting, and stacking within constrained vehicle envelope requirements; enable single-soldier handling and rapid reconfiguration between mounted and expeditionary use; and provide integrated power distribution, signal patching, and active cooling. Solutions should also comply with airline carry-on and vehicle dimensional constraints to support both air and ground transportability.

Key technical characteristics of interest include compliance with external dimensional limits of 16.1 inches wide by 14 inches high by 9 inches deep, removable lids and panels, appropriate handle placement, one-person lift capability, and internal mounting systems that allow components to be removed and replaced quickly.
