DESCRIPTION

The IRS Criminal Investigation division seeks a mobility e-discovery and archival solution to support a modernized infrastructure using Android devices, including Samsung S-series smartphones, and iPhone devices. The solution must provide a forensically defensible platform for the lawful acquisition, preservation, search, and production of mobile device data from devices issued and managed through Microsoft Intune.

The platform should support full ingestion, indexing, secure storage, legal hold management, and production of mobile electronically stored information. It must enable logical and, where legally authorized, full file system extraction from iOS and Android devices, including the acquisition and parsing of SMS and MMS messages, call logs, contacts, and media such as pictures and videos contained in messages.

The solution should integrate with Microsoft Intune workflows and support device inventory synchronization, remote acquisition initiation, legal hold tagging, compliance state alignment, and API-level automation for data collection or device event logging. It should accommodate derived credential authentication, S/MIME certificate requirements, mixed certificate profiles, evolving configurations, and Security Technical Implementation Guide compliance.

The platform must produce evidentiary-grade exports containing metadata, hashes, and audit logs suitable for investigative and prosecutorial use. It should also interface with or complement existing CI digital forensics toolkits.
