Licensed Funeral Director Services

A government authority in Shawnee, Oklahoma is seeking licensed funeral director services in connection with disinterment and reinterment activities. The selected provider must be licensed or recognized by the state registrar of vital records and must coordinate closely with the city throughout the process.

The funeral director will be responsible for confirming that next of kin has been properly notified before any disinterment occurs and for obtaining the required forms from the state registrar of vital records before disinterment and reinterment take place. When remains are reinterred within the cemetery, the provider must ensure the process is handled properly if the next of kin does not choose relocation.

If remains are to be placed in the cemetery, the funeral director must complete and secure signatures on the required notice of disinterment and reinterment and submit it to the state registrar of vital records at the state department of health within five days. If the next of kin elects to move remains to another burial location, the funeral director must work with the family to facilitate the proper transfer to the alternate site.
