Virginia libraries are seeking a vendor to provide a cloud-based Integrated Library System (ILS) along with a hosted discovery platform. The solution should include comprehensive implementation services such as system installation, configuration, data migration, and staff training to support both library operations and public catalog access.
The ILS must automate daily activities for staff and patrons while offering a robust discovery platform that supports bi-directional communication—enabling functionalities like real-time item availability, hold requests, and account management. Essential features include the generation of both custom and standard reports, the ability to mass import user accounts (such as the regular addition of 90,000 student accounts), and automated billing/invoicing via both email and postal mail. The system should facilitate staff-assisted retrieval of previous user sessions and be delivered entirely as a hosted/cloud solution, eliminating the need for on-premises servers.
Authentication requirements call for integration with Azure Active Directory Federation Services for SAML 2.0-based single sign-on, as well as multi-factor authentication interoperability with the County’s existing identity provider.
