A government authority in Oakland, Maryland seeks a vendor to provide comprehensive insurance contracting and credentialing services. The objective is to improve empanelment and billing processes, granting rural residents greater access to locally covered services, supporting earlier disease detection, enhanced chronic disease management, and reducing reliance on high-cost acute care.
Key responsibilities include managing insurance provider enrollment and credentialing, handling payer relations, and managing application processes. The scope also involves contracting with Medicaid managed care organizations and commercial insurance networks to promote long-term financial sustainability of rural public health services. The vendor will support ongoing revalidation, re-contracting, and re-credentialing, as well as coordination and direct communication with Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurers.
The selected provider must be able to resolve deficiencies, rejections, and requests for additional information from insurance providers, ensuring all processes are timely, compliant, and comprehensive. Additionally, the RFP encourages exploring aggregation of rural clinicians in contracting and enrollment to benefit from economies of scale. The contract period is one year.
