DESCRIPTION

The Town of Blacksburg, Virginia is seeking qualified insurance consultant services to assist in securing and evaluating insurance bids for property, casualty, and volunteer insurance programs. The selected consultant will review specifications, recommend appropriate insurance coverages, limits, and deductible amounts, and provide bid analysis with recommendations on acceptable offers.

Duties include analyzing the current insurance program, developing alternative structures if needed, tabulating and verifying insurance bids, and making recommendations in collaboration with the Finance Director. The consultant will offer support in risk management, assist with insurance policy renewals, audit reviews, and provide recommendations to ensure adequate coverage for the Town each year. Additional responsibilities include aiding employee communications to reduce losses, estimating annual insurance budgets, and recommending procedures to identify exposures to loss. The initial contract period will be for one year.
