DESCRIPTION

The issuing organization is seeking a qualified vendor to provide website design, development, and migration services for a historic or parks-related public-facing website using the WordPress content management system. The selected firm will create a standalone, modern, and highly functional website that serves as the department’s official digital presence, with a strong emphasis on usability, scalability, mobile responsiveness, and performance optimization, including Core Web Vitals.

The scope includes development of a full migration strategy to ensure accurate content transfer, preservation of functional links and media, and retention of SEO value. The website is expected to include a clear and intuitive sitemap, streamlined navigation, high-priority access to frequently used pages and FAQs, and a visually compelling design aligned with the County Parks brand. The site must also meet ADA accessibility requirements and be optimized for both traditional SEO and emerging AI-driven search environments.

Required integrations include Google Analytics, Google Search Console, social media platforms, and other relevant third-party services as needed. The site must also integrate with or embed the existing Vermont Systems (WebTrac) account to support reservations for camping, shelters, and other amenities, and it must be flexible enough to integrate with a marina management software platform that is currently being procured. Additional desired functionality includes an events management system, preferably using The Events Calendar WordPress plugin, as well as notification delivery options such as email, SMS, or browser-based push notifications, depending on feasibility.

All questions must be submitted no later than July 24, 2026.
