The solution should enable the display of customizable, interactive maps within web applications, supporting map layers, custom styling, markers, and other advanced mapping features.

Key requirements include calculating directions, estimated travel times, and optimized routing with real-time traffic support. The system should generate alternate routes during detours, provide comprehensive details on geographic places (such as names, types, and contact information), and handle address geocoding and reverse geocoding. Additional functionality includes generating static map images with optional markers or overlays (without requiring JavaScript), displaying live closures or weather overlays, tracking API usage and system performance through Google Cloud Logging, and creating signage previews.
