Food Service for Jail Facility

The government authority in Sylvester, Georgia is seeking a vendor to provide food service for a jail facility. The selected provider must furnish a properly trained Food Service Director with experience in institutional food service management and nutrition. All meals are to be prepared in the kitchen, and the contractor must maintain full and accurate records related to food service operations, including receipts, meal counts, and associated documentation.

The service requirements include preparation of daily menus consisting of two hot meals and one cold meal each day. Breakfast and lunch are to be served hot, while the evening meal is to be served cold. The provider must also accommodate medical, religious, or ethnic dietary considerations as determined appropriate by medical and jail staff. Food specifications referenced include ground beef of utility grade or better with no more than 25% fat, canned and frozen fruits and vegetables, fresh produce, eggs, and nationally distributed brands for frozen fish and seafood.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for July 24, 2026, and questions must be submitted by July 27, 2026. The contract term will be one year.
