The government authority located in Captain Cook, Hawaii seeks a qualified contractor to provide fiber optic and network modernization services. The project involves furnishing and installing a new structured fiber optic network cable connection from an existing location to a wall-mounted rack. The contractor is responsible for supplying all required fiber and Cat6 cable, conductors, and related devices for installation both inside project buildings and in external areas, including appropriate shielding.
All necessary termination devices such as fiber distribution panels, bulkheads/couplers, and fiber splice modules must be provided and positioned as specified. Fusion-based fiber-optic connector splicing is required, utilizing two fiber optic strands of the exact make/model on each end with factory terminated pigtails; epoxy splices are not acceptable.
In addition, the contractor must provide minimum 20-foot service loops for all backbone cables at internal building termination points and 10-foot service loops in hand hole or vault locations, specifically at the first, last, and directional changes of 90 degrees or more. Approved fire stopping systems must be installed in all communication pass-throughs, as well as in conduit and cable tray wall and floor penetrations. This opportunity is set aside exclusively for small businesses.
