DESCRIPTION

The issuing organization is seeking information from vendors regarding a citywide fiber management solution for managing outside plant fiber and conduit. The desired solution will combine a management tool, shared data repository, and business processes for maintaining network information.

The solution should support asset inventory, configuration and capacity management, field operations, strategic planning, and ongoing network operations. Required capabilities include assigning unique IDs to fiber-related assets; tracing fiber continuity across splice points; recording strand-to-strand splice mappings; modeling ring, mesh, and point-to-point topologies; tracking circuit assignments at the port and patch level; and capturing coordinates for structures and cabinets.

Additional capabilities should include fiber and conduit mapping for 811 and locate requests, real-time strand utilization by cable segment, what-if modeling for planned construction, automated or manual splice sheet generation, and aging asset reports based on installation-date thresholds. Vendor questions must be submitted no later than September 30, 2026.
