DESCRIPTION

The government authority in Arlington, Virginia seeks a vendor to provide family finding services aimed at supporting children in the foster care system. The selected provider will communicate with members of a child's extended family or fictive kin to determine their interest in fostering children and assess the possibility of placing sibling groups together in kinship care.

The vendor will take into account each child's preferences during the recruitment and placement process of relatives or fictive kin. Additional responsibilities include conducting searches for relatives and fictive kin for children currently residing in non-relative foster homes within 90 days of referral, providing sufficient background information for each child to support family finding, and creating an electronic genogram (family tree) for each child.
