DESCRIPTION


A government authority in Washington, DC is seeking a vendor to provide domestic food assistance program services involving frozen turkey and related commodity requirements.

The frozen turkey must be properly labeled by kind and class of poultry, with information allowing the time in storage to be determined. Water, refrigerated water, slush ice, or water used to cool or maintain the temperature of boneless skinless thighs must not be incorporated into the commodity.

The commodity must be chilled to an internal product temperature of 40°F (4.4°C) or lower immediately after processing. Frozen products must be processed, packaged, packed, and placed in a freezer within seven calendar days after the date of harvest.
