Construction Quality Management for Contractors Course Offering

This notice announces a Construction Quality Management for Contractors course intended to familiarize contractor personnel with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers construction quality management concepts and procedures. The course is required for certification of Contractor Quality Control System Managers and will be held at Davenport Public Library Eastern, 6000 Eastern Avenue, Davenport, Iowa 52807. The training runs for 11 hours across October 8 from 0900 to 1700 and October 9 from 0900 to 1200, with a class size limit of 20 students.

The course content includes instruction in introduction to quality management, contractor review, quality management planning, preconstruction conference and coordination meeting, submittals, quality management during construction, making the system work, and the Resident Management System. The training is delivered as a facilitated video course with eight modules and submodules, each combining introductory material, short video segments, reading content, and class discussion to encourage active participation.

To successfully complete the course, students must attend all sessions and achieve a passing grade of 70 on the written test administered at the end of the course. Participants who satisfactorily complete the training will receive a certificate valid for five years. The notice also states that classes may be cancelled if fewer than six registrants are confirmed one week before the scheduled date, and priority will be given to students working on current or upcoming contracts within the Mississippi Valley Division.
