DESCRIPTION
The City of Santa Monica is seeking a consultant to provide community sustainability engagement and green business certification and recognition program services. The selected consultant will develop, coordinate, and implement free community sustainability events, including film screenings, resource fairs, expos, and other innovative outreach activities.
The consultant will coordinate the City's annual student sustainability poster contest for K–12 students by collaborating with City staff on the contest theme, conducting outreach, and tracking submissions. The consultant will also support the annual Sustainable Quality Awards by assisting with recruitment, nominations, applications, judging, outreach, promotion, event coordination, emceeing as needed, and preparation of a post-event summary. Additional responsibilities include participating in the annual Most Loved Businesses contest.
Program support will include developing and maintaining Santa Monica-specific outreach materials; maintaining a public webpage, email service, phone line, and social media account; and collaborating with local, regional, state, and national organizations to provide resources to green businesses.
