The vendor will provide a cloud-hosted enterprise resource planning system for a state entity. The existing Genesis application was developed using Micro Focus AcuCobol and operates on current Windows operating systems running on Microsoft servers.
Originally developed for a Wang platform, Genesis uses three types of data systems: Vision data files consisting of AcuCobol indexed sequential files, sequential text files, and a Microsoft SQL Server relational database accessed through stored procedures. A portion of the Vision files has been converted to SQL by staff of the state entity.
